Jersey Ride Against AIDS Recruiting Riders, Crew & Sponsors |
| The seventh
annual New Jersey Ride Against AIDS, a three day, 250-mile bicycle ride
covering the length of New Jersey will be held Friday, September 26th
through Sunday, September 28th, 2008. The purpose of the Ride is to raise
awareness that AIDS is still a concern in New Jersey and to raise money to
address that concern. Organizers of the Ride hope to raise over $100,000 for New Jersey based AIDS charities. One of the extraordinary features of this event is that 100% of the pledges raised by riders will go directly to New Jersey charities. Expenses for the Ride will be covered through corporate and private sponsorship and participant registration fees. New Jersey Ride Against AIDS is a 100% volunteer organization, with no paid or salaried employees. Past beneficiaries include The Center in Asbury Park, South Jersey AIDS Alliance, The Eric Johnson House, NAMES Project Foundation-Central New Jersey Chapter, NJ Women and AIDS Network, Broadway House For Continuing Care, Access One, NJ Family-Centered HIV Care Network-Pediatric AIDS, and Hi-Tops. The Ride will begin on Friday morning in High Point (Sussex County) and end on Sunday afternoon in Cape May. The Ride is actively recruiting riders, volunteers and sponsors. Registration deadline is September 10th. Anyone interested in riding, volunteering, or sponsoring the New Jersey Ride Against AIDS are invited to visit their website at www.njrideagainstaids.org or call Pat Sherman at 732.988.6593. |
